November,2008 Time slips away when you are distracted. The major distractions of course are the election and the economy. Luckily we are working with some new customers. As usual, we are thankful for considering our company for your project. Hopefully, new energy and good direction will carry our economy forward. Our shop is open and ready for your project. We have (4) wire EDM machines and some open time this week. Currently, the big project in the shop is a rubber cutting work station. You can see a similar tool in our products section . We shipped a couple of work stations in October, thats good news. We are also working with a new customer to trim a contour on dual density rubber extrusion. Prototypes are promising and hopefully new business is coming our way. We are starting a new progressive die thru the shop. Over the last couple of years, alot of these tools have gone to China. We are hopeful more of these tools will be brought back to the States. This tool also shipped in October and is up and rumming. On the other hand, die repair and tune up is a niche we have developed over the years. We can chart your tool and bring it back to new condition. Send your RFQ for a rapid response and maybe we can do a job for you. If you need a Toolmaker to make a 'house call' let us know. We have considerable talent spread amongst our staff and probably can help you solve almost any tooling problem. Currently, we have one toolmaker on assignment and is filling a void in our customers roster. We have a set of tooling in the shop that makes special washers for a pump manufacturer. We designed all the tools (4 dies),built them, then tested them in our press. Changes were made to enhance the washer designs and create work friendly tools to produce parts. Currently, we have produced the 1st run of washers and sent them to heat treat. We are now in the second run and continue to monitor the dies capabilities. Since the design requires punching .140 dia. holes in .250 thick 1050 steel we decided to give a try to CPM M4 punches coated with XCN to increase punch life and reduce stripping force. We are now using these tools to produce the initial production parts. If you would like us to take care of your project from start to completion give us a call,we would be more than happy to help out. We are now quoting more automation projects. We have brought an auotmation Engineer on board and new projects are coming our way. Our first such job was awarded to us this week on 10/23/08. Currently the design is complete and approved, material ordered and we are starting the build. Thank You John Stump |
